Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust dirt) and wet mess (spills, staining) in one go without having to swap out devices. They can also help save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bin and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean and complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of dirt, pet hair, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app which lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick glance at the history of cleaning in the app tells you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that indicates the need for maintenance, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long run time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode. The vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing recharging or returning to the base. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is intuitively laid out and is easy to comprehend, though we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the most up-to-date version. The model of this year features an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could be unable to pick up.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another type of surface. It then can alter its path automatically and clean around them, without missing a step.
robot vacuums reviews 's the most expensive model I've tried and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular style is striking and has only three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button to return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.
The only downside I've discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to take off the mount to wash manually. I've observed that any carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener on mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while saving you time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry mess. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another standout characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, that allows it to reach hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean curved furniture like table and chairs' legs. It also allows the robot to access furniture with a low profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots, which is a nice addition that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, and vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and intuitive The X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it a great option for busy families. The docking station can automatically empty the dustbin and wash the mop pads, then refill them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect whether the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has several features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after each use. This is an excellent feature since it prevents the build-up of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system a lot more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot mop or vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There are plenty of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. The app lets you make these settings or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and offers a variety of options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also comes with many functions that are not available on other robots, for instance the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction when it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a white-and-metallic finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a little heavier than some of the other two-in-1 robots on this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and feels robust and well built. The mopping system is also well designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
